about me

David Pollitt (hiking in Tasmania) Hi, I’m David Pollitt and this is my webfolio. I live in Brisbane, Australia where I work as a web designer and developer at the University of Queensland.

I design websites and web applications, write functional specifications for online systems, and then build them. I also bridge the gap between clients and the really technical people I work with so that everything runs smoothly.

For kicks I climb mountains and take photos.

employment history

Currently I work at the University of Queensland as a web designer & developer.

Previously I worked at Digicon House as a web designer and project manager for 4 years.

what I can do for you

As I mentioned above, I'm a web designer. But I have far more skills than just designing great websites.

I've worked on a wide range of websites and learnt many things about information architecture.
I design user friendly systems, both appearance and functionality.
I can write in depth functional specification documents for developers to build from.
I can build simple websites and skin CMS sites.
I know how to get a site found in Google using all sorts of SEO techniques.
I can delegate domain names and setup email accounts. With experience in IIS and cpanels.
I know how to setup Google Analytics, analyise and make recommendations from the reports.
And possibly most importantly I can manage projects. Client management, timelines, team management and task allocation; bridging the gap between the technical and the non-technically minded.
